Competition Engineering's Subframe Connectors

I have a set of weld-in Competiton Engineering Subframe Connectors (PaRT # 3046). I was hoping I could have these welded in on my 92 Camaro RS. It says that modification is required. Has anyone used these and is familiar with the installation? How much modificatioin is required, b/c I am thinking of possibly selling them and buying another set to put right in.

I dont have the weld in type, but I do have the bolt in type. It says the same on my instruction sheet. The only modification that I could see is for the exhaust. My exhaust had already been changed to accept headers built for my car. I could see that the cat may have to be moved or the exhaust pipe lowered if it were all stock. I have heard that other brands require no mods. I am well pleased with mine and may later on weld them in although I cant see that it is necessary. Good product.

i actually changed mine a bit to make em work the way i wanted i added some extra metal to the axle end of them so they held the frame better, i also took the factory mount off the passenger side one and made a new one that held better. i also boxed in the ends of the SFC's. the only other mod was changing me Y pipe to accomidate the passenger side.

Like I said, I have the bolt-it type. I changed the upright metal tubes that run from each sill to the center frame. I changed them to flat 1/2 steel plate and have the option of bolting that to the floor pan. I decided that it was only about a foot and there was no real need for the extra strength. I may eventually weld mine in. I suppose the weld in type are made of different tubes than the bolt in type? The advantage of the flat steel is that there is no loss of ground clearance from the exhaust.
