does anyone make an alternative to the stock version besides road tech.

is road tech's version any good.....will it hold up for many years or is it something that should be used for racing purposes only.

the bearings in mine are shot so i'd like to get something new.

open to all suggestions!

Gound Control makes solid inserts that fit into your stock mounts and replace the rubber bushing. They are fully adjustable.

Click on catalogs at the left column/ then click on Camaro/Firebird. They are about 1/2 way down the page.

i'm a little confused, will they replace the stock plate itself or does it just replace the rivited bearing in the plate?

anyone using these?

any others out there?

The Ground Control units just replace the bearing and rubber surround. They retain the stock metal plates.

You'll get a stiffer suspension with less play and you can adjust your camber and caster a whole lot more then you can with the stock set up. I was gonna buy it but since i'm getting hte road tech coil overs imma just go with their spherical ends one.

I have the Ground Control Caster / Camber Adjusters.
Advantages?
1) more travel: the upper mounting point is about 1" higher than the stock mounts.
2) Steel Spherical Bearings in aluminum plate.
3) Adjustability. Whole plate they're in rotates 360 degrees plus the adjustments of the original shell.
To install them , you have to drill out the spot welds holding the upper and lower shells together to remove the old rubber mount.
New one then clamps to the top of the old shell.

ground control is the only one i am aware of that even has a caster adjustment. i have seen a couple of plates, but they only have additional camber.

so are we saying that the ground control is the best thing on the market........or the only thing?

common guys i really need help; i need to replace mine here in a week or two and i'm having the engine bay painted. i don't want to bolt down the stock plates and find out there's something better that's a different design ruining the paint!

i need your opinions and suggestions!

yes i have seen those although i have ruled them out because they aren't mass produced, or even produced at all for that matter.

i want something that i can get ahold of relatively easily....they do look nice though.

I just sent an email to Karl at Hunter Motorsports looking for a source of these strut mounts. It seems that Karl is the source. I'm not sure what the availability is or could be... but these units seem to be the ones to use for serious front end set-ups.

later... Rocket

the last time i spoke with Karl, he seemed more than willing to do another round of production, if there was enough interest. he told me , he would love to produce these more, but there just wasn't the market for them.

BTW, if you DO get a chance to get a set of these, they are a great looking peice.

see that would be alright, i could add them later when some are made without fear of messing up the paint.

anyone interested in getting an order together? what does he usually charge for them?

next production run... ???
I'm workin' on it.
we have to make some changes - just for cosmetic purposes - it looks like all future units will be bare polished aluminum, not anodized. It makes things easier when dealing with small production runs (20 sets) if they can ALL be made the same.

in the future they will most likely all look like the polished set you see above.

Stay tuned...

Price???
Price is to be finalized after we figure out the costs of polishing and all, but figure around $300.00 U.S. plus shipping and stuff.

dang it i could really use a set here in the next month......

will your new design or next batch have the same "footprint" as the stock ones and your older versions?

i don't want to put stock braces on my new paint to have a totally different design and waste the time of painting the bay.

you don't have a set laying around by any chance do you? didn't think so...well keep us posted.

anyone who has a set for sale please let me know as i have to do something soon.
