I want ProKit and a non-harsh riding strut/shock
I spent the last few hours searching, and I'm puzzled. I want the ProKit because I think a inch drop (if any) would look great, but I'm concerned about buying the Bilstein Sports because of an overly harsh ride.
I want a good shock, but I don't want to be bounced all over while driving. I don't want harsh.
What shocks match up with the Eibach ProKit springs that don't feel rough?

The KYB GR2 struts and KYB Gas-a-just shocks are a very good combo with the Eibachs for a street car (by reading all the various posts on this subject). I have the pro-kit right now and plan to get the KYBs soon.

Kandied- what is the difference between the bilstein "sports" and "HDs"??? Which of the two is more performance oriented? I usually only see the HDs on most websites- where can I get the sports? Is there a price difference? Oh, and just out of curiosity, why do so many people like the bilsteins better over the konis when you can't even adjust them like you can the konis? I mean, what if you aren't happy with the ride on the bilsteins- you can't adjust them and you are screwed! Oh well, enlighten me! -89IRO
i have the HD models that i purchased through lingenfelter because they had the best prices at the time!
performance oriented........koni or bilstein........i think it's brand preference personally. i had koni adjustables for a time being because everyone spoke so lovely about them; i personally thought their adjustment was pointless. there was no real fine line with them, either to soft or stiff and most of the time it had to be stiff. i went with the bilsteins looking for something better. they use them from the factory on most performance cars so i felt it was worth a try. many magazines gave them high ratings and i never found one person who owned a set bad mouth them however i found many who owned koni, kyb, and the like who weren't happy.
i think it's a personall preference really, but you also have to use your head. you ask about adjustability........yet bilstein also offers adjustable setups. they are just alot more then the average person will pay for so you don't hear of them much. i personally like the least amount of adjustment needed to get the job done. with the bilsteins they worked perfect. great for cruising and performed well at the various tracks. i'd buy them again if i needed to.
as far as not being happy with the ride...........i suppose that could be true. i've never heard of anyone not being unhappy. it's not like they are a cheaper setup that just has it's problems.
do some more research and decide for yourself. if you really want true adjustable equipment and are willing to pay for it there are nice options out there for you.

You need a good shock to keep up with aftermarket springs like Eibach otherwise you'll just be buying shocks all the time. People seem to like the KYBs. Bilstein is probably the best choice because they seem to less nervous on the car. Koni Yellows? - I'll know next week when I get the car back.
