RUMOR: Caprice and 1LE??

Could be totally wrong here, but I think I read or heard somewhere, that some late 80's early 90's Caprices had either a 1LE setup or something very similar. Wondering if a salvage yard caprice might deliver a 1LE.

Has anyone ever heard this before?

Yep, the 1LE uses re-drilled Caprice rotors and Corvette calipers. The rotors off a junkyard Caprice won't necessarily fit a Camaro.

For the record, the calipers are not the same. The camaro calipers are wider.

I saw an article in one of the Hot Rod Rags that talked about 90's police version of the caprice being equiped with 1LE brake set up front and rear.

Hmmm, this is very interesting. I happen to have an old 1990 caprice ex cop car sitting in my back yard. I'll have to go check this out!!
