Is there a 13" third gen brake rotor available?
Is there a 13" third gen brake rotor available?
Does anyone know if a 13" rotor is available?
I'd like to upgrade the 1LE system by building a new bracket and mounting them on a 13" rotor.
I think that would make a significant, low cost, difference in the 1LE stopping power.
I am also interested in adopting the Stainless steel brake corps 43mm 4 piston caliper to the same system. Of course the wheels
would need to be 17"diameter, but that is coming
Thanks

Umm, you aren't helpful
There is a way to do this without dealing with the unhelpful folks at Baer. It had been awhile since I called them, and I had forgotten how unhelpful they really were.
Kind of reminds me of your reply.
I think Doug Rippie has the answer. I need to call there tomorrow, but swamped with getting the racecar finished and loaded for alignment Thurs and tow fri.

Consider turning (on lathe) your existing rotor down to the hub, buying longer lug studs, and using a 13" C5 corvette rotor. If you do this, how about a tech article? :hail:

I found the people at Baer quite helpful. I went in with the required information (from their website) and after a few questions, placed an order.
Are they expensive? Yes. Is it worth the expense? It all depends on what your time is worth. If you have time to chase down parts and do a lot of custom mods, more power to you. But, if you choose to do this, please- kick out a tech article! Good call Matlock!
Did you have a particular problem with Baer?

Man I'm not being a smart a$$. I know of no other company that makes a 13 inch rotor beside Baer and SSB. By the time you buy all the stuff and modify it you will have well over what a kit from Baer or Stainless Steel brakes would have cost ya. I had absotuley no problems with the people at Baer, they gave me great customer service and was able to answer all my questions.

Fully agree with Super-
I didn't go with Stainless Steel Brakes because they were re-doing their website and I couldn't view the parts.
Wavslav-
Did you have a particular beef with Baer or just a bad phone experience? I'm interested to hear of it, if so- maybe something of use to others.

I already have 1 LE brakes and I'm interested in going up to a 13" rotor, and possibly swapping to a 4 piston caliper.
I have delt with many people at different companies chasing down parts for all kinds of custom racing applications for different cars, Baer on my last call as all others could give me a limited amount of info about their products and no help, suggestions, or recomendations beyond the scope of selling me a full kit which they consider most of the info surrounding to be proprietary, ie... no help at all.
I didn't know SSBC had a 13" rotor.
Perhaps you have been of some asisstance.
Thank You
I am not interested in doing a hub and floating rotor with extended wheel studs.
That will be someone else's project.

I agree with you on Baer's tendency to only sell kits. I had asked if they would just sell me the rotor and caliper- I could have done the spindle mods myself. That was a no go-
Maybe SSBC would be willing to work on something like that. I imagine all brake companies have to watch their liability very closely.
Good luck with whatever you choose

I believe that all brake companies that stock rotors should sell rotors
I think Your liability concern is Your concern. THEY are in the brake business.
I may be a little lazy. The thing to do is measure the offsets and call Coleman and buy a hat and rotor assembly that will work, instead of looking to see who already has the homework done for me.
