I am lookng at two tires right now. On are the Michelin Pilot Sport Cups and the other is the g-Force T/A KDs. Wich ones should I get???? This car is a AutoX car that also needs to be streetable to drive around town on the freeway and takemy date out. The car is hardly driven except on special occasions. I don't think many people here have used both tires and can fairly compare them. Check out the ratings on Tirerack.com. That and search around on the internet for comparisons between the tires.

I have the BFGoodrich TA G-force KDWS tires. I needed an all season radial, so I gave up a little dry traction. Not much, but enough to get by in the rain. Price was a big factor for me as well. $115/tire.

That said, too bad i don't have a running car to put them on yet......

I've used the KDW and was very impressed with them. The KD is even better on dry surfaces, not too good when it's wet though.

HAHAHAHAHA! Good one Ed. I wish I could say something different than everybody else but alas I cant. I went out and bought BFG KDW's as well. I like them. No complaints..

i sould of said that this car is not driven in the rain or when it just got done raining, so the wet raction is not needed. I heard alot of people use the KDs but the Pilots look alot more hardcore. Any thoughts on this (I ran a search but most people dont know jack about tires, so they judge on looks ) THANKS AGAIN

I've heard and read that pilots give about the best traction out there for a radial however their tread-life isn't all that great.

I'm using Kuhmo Supras, they seem very good for wet weather. But I can still light them up from a light. Once on the track, the grip extremely well!

Traction on the Kuhmos suck, had the Supra 712's in 275/40/17.
BFG KDW gripped hardcore. The KD should be even better.
How much driving are you planning on doing in a year? Might look into getting some drag radials for the rears and KD's for the fronts.

I dont drag it, AutoX. I dont drive it all that much a year maybe 300-400mi. a year worse case scenario. It's mostly a garage baby. But when it hits the asphalt I want it to corner like a slot car.

Get some Nitto 555R tires, great for auto-x and road racing.

I have a little bit taller sidewall, that will make a little difference. For street tires at the track, if you dodge the burn-out-box, then they work well. Better than the Dunlop SP5000 that were on my car, but they had some age on them.

I just needed tires till I find which wheels I want to use.

If you are running autox you need to get some Yokos. I have heard good things about them and the handling capabilites. I think this is just going to be a live/learn situation. It is going to have to be that you like it, not what other people think.

Just wanted to know a generial consesisus before I lay down some $. If everyone said one tire sucked big time, or it blew out at 100mph than I would be forwarned about it. Besides most people learn form THERE mistakes, smart people learn from OTHERS mistakes
