need help.......

when i make a sharp turn, as in pulling out of a parking spot, it sounds like my tires are rubbing badly, well
for 1, their not
and secondly, they are stock 91 Z28 rims with 225/55/16 tires (yeah, kinda small, i know)

as the car has 193,000 miles on it, i am guessing this noise/feeling/vibration i am getting is caused by bad ball joints...................do you think i am correct?
and how do i check for bad ball joints?

thanx

with that many miles, plus noise and vibration, it'd be a safe bet you may need to replace some front end parts. why don't you take a look and see what's worn out or has excessive movement. if nothing has ever been changed it may be best to simply replace most if not all the front end parts.

thats exactly what i planned on doing one year ago, but budget did not allow..........maybe soon.......i know some of the front end pieces were replaced, but i do agree, that i need to overhaul the front end

Same here, dude... so far, only the idler arm and centerlink were replaced, back in '96. It's now 7 years later, at 246,000 miles, and everything that looks old in the front suspension is getting replaced this year. I'm even going to change out the calipers for new ones, just because! I just hope they fix some of the friggin' roads around Jersey so I can hold out for Summertime...
