yes, this mod has helped MANY people, do a search on it you will get more than you ever wanted to know.
i went with spohn relocation brakets, dont have them on yet but they seem like they will improve traction a bit, i also went with spohn's torque arm which wll help even more with the traction issues.

They are a HUGE help. Not so much with tire spin as such, but mostly with wheel hop.
I had a problem with wheel hop; and even worse, when I got on it, the car would fishtail violently, and nothing I did would keep it from happening. One time, after I raced a 98 Z28 SS, he pulled up next to me at the next traffic light afterwards and actually asked if I was doing that on purpose.... obviously he could see it, guess why...
I put a set of Lakewood LCAs on it, that didn't change it, but tightened up the car some; then I put a Spohn torque arm on it, same thing, except it was a big tightening-up, like taking a rubber band out of the suspension; still had wheel hop though. Then I put on the LCA brackets (also Spohn). It was like a whole different car. Now the car launches dead straight, hard, no hop; I can (or could at least, when I still had a decent motor in it) still blow the tires off, but the hop and instability went altogether away.

yeah they work with stock arms. the brackets come with 2 sets of holes but stock arms are only long enough to fit on the upper set (from my experience). you'll need adjustable LCA's to make them fit on the lower set of holes (for better traction and less hop), since you can change the length of them. i recently installed the BMR brackets ($100). i have definitely noticed reduced wheel hop but i'd still like to get the adjustable LCA's.
do a search and you should find lots of pics on different types of brackets.

The better-made brackets have to holes located in an arc, such that they are all the same distance from the front mount point of the LCA. The Spohn ones are that way for example.
The Lakewood arms I have are the same length as stock, and fit fine in any hole I want them to.

While I didn't have wheel hop, I got horrible traction and huge Squat when I got on it. LCA R helped that.
If your car is lowered use the BOTTOM hole, if it's not lowered use the UPPER hole.
You can over do it, but using the bottom hole on a non lowered car.
It was definatly worth my $70... I boxed my LCAs and put Poly Bushings while I was at it. Helped alot. Can't wait to get to the track where there is some hookup with low tire PSI.
