Help!!! Just Installed Dropzones

Hello everyone, I just installed new dropzone lowering springs on my 91RS. My old springs were completely shot. I didnt expect to see a difference in the height when I was done, but there was. The car is actually jacked in the back now. It is a lot higher than before. Looks good so I didnt pay it much attention. I took it on a test drive and the rear is rock solid. So tight that it is jaring me going over speed bumps(creeping over em, not flying). Is this normal? Also, just for more info, I didnt have time to swap the fronts, dont know if that makes a difference or not. I am gonna do them tomorrow. Any ideas, or am I worring for nuffin? Thanks

I dont know about dropzones...but I'm guessing that their spring rate isnt very high. Considering that a normal road race camaro runs about 250-300lbs in the rear. The Eibach prokit is about 175 or so in the rear. I'm guessing that a company thats more about looks would probably be pretty weak. How low did it drop your car? are the bump stops possibly bottoming out? try to check that.

If the fender gap is anything more than 2 inches, something isn't seated properly, which sounds like a possibility considering you're having a really harsh ride compared to old sagged springs (which is pretty harsh anyway). Take a look in there and make sure the springs are in their isolators properly, and everything is where it's supposed to be.

yah man you got something screwed up going on, my springs are GREAT!!! Your shouldnt be jacked.... make sure they are in correct. And you bump stops have nothing to do with it.....theres no way dropzones will dottom out unless your runing them with no shocks!

Maybe your rear shocks are toast??

I will be picking up a set of these springs soon. Hopefully it doesn't lower my car that much. I still have stockers. But who knows. But the price is right on the dropzones so I'm gonna give them a shot and see what happens.

Click the link in my sig for pointers on a lowering spring install. You may not have the springs properly seated in the upper spring buckets. If you don't have them in right, the *** end will sit too high.

Take a look and post what you find. The fronts are a job but not too hard, just take your time.
