anyone else repair floorboards/subframe with patches?

the camaro i just bought is really clean...but the rearend came loose a week after i boughgt it cause the rear control arm came unattatched on one side, i took the seats and pull the carpet out, theres a hole in the back drivers seat and the subframe/rocker panel is stress cracked, i already started making patches with thicker than stock steel, has anyone else doen this? or do u just get the whole panel and weld them in? i really dont have much money left now. if i do it right should it hold?

i've patched up as lot of rusted frames for people over the years. it'll hold just find. you want to make sure you have some referance point if you are working with anything that can get reinstalled off location, like a rear end.

Right now I have a piece of sheet metal for the driver's side floorpan. It's only temporary until I put some steel plate in there. Then I'm going to POR-15 the whole underbody.
