need help quick...my ball joint is moving in the A arm

the auto ecanics teacher said that the hole in the A arm that the ball join goes into is a litle worn out, so its moving up and down, i can either get a new A arm or spot weld it back where it was pressed in he said...will that work?

i've heard of a lot of people here welding it in. i'd rty loctite first. the way it's loaded is pulling it in instead of allowing it to far out, but i'd want to make sure it was secure.

I'd get another control arm, I wouldn't fool around with any alternate engineering schemes. They're like $25 at the buzzard. Life (your own and everyone else's around you on the roads) is too short to take chances on it, for $25.

only 25???
Last time I needed them I paid $35 for both.... I was being pessimistic, it's probably less than that. I was changing the bushings, and I wanted to just get another set and do those, so I could take the car apart and put it back together right then without having to deal with the bushings while it was disabled.

These control arms fit something else; A & G bodies, probably. They even still have the shock mount in the middle of the spring pocket, that doesn't belong on one of these cars.

Get the oversize set. THey are available everywhere. That's what I had to do - but only on one side for some reason. Make sure they're in all the way!!
