Brake fitting problem

I am having a really hard time finding the fitting that goes into the rear brake hose on my 84 Camaro. I had to replace half of the line because it was rusted bad where the metal line connected into the rear brake hose. The fitting itself was rusted to the line so I went to look for a new one and everyplace I went to (Auto Zone, Pep Boys, Hamlet, KOI, Smyth's, Napa) didn't have the fitting. They said it was a 12x1.25 for quarter inch brake line and the stores only had 12x1.00 and 12x1.50. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on how to get my brakes together again? Thanks in advance -William

Have you tried going to your local GM dealer? It might be a few more bucks, but I'm sure by now your headache is so big you really don't care anymore, do you?

I went through the excact same thing on my 86 Z. I ended up going to a GM Dealer (discontinued) as well as every car/hardware store in 20 miles without finding it. I ended up having to reuse the factory one because nobody carried it.

Well the bad thing about mine was that it was rusted to the old brake line. I did reuse it, but I had to ream out the inside where the old brake hose had rusted in. Needless to say, I ruined the fitting and now I am trying to find someone that can order it for me. I think I have found a place, but I did the whole run to all the auto parts stores looking for it and needless to say, none of em had it, nor did any of the dealers! What a pain!

I had the same problem with my line lock, I just reflared the steel line to a standard fitting.
