lowering the back of my 87 iroc

ok guys heres the thing,

ive lowered civics, ludes, celicas, accords and pretty much everything else...

but i cannot see how to lower the back end of my iroc...

it looks like you pretty much have to take the rear end out/off to get the springs off...i bought eibachs for now (will be air bagging it soon) so for now i just wanna put the eibachs in..

anyone have any easy ideas on how to go about doing the springs in the back??

thanks in advance

You support the frame on jack stands, let teh rear end hang, and take the lower shock bolts out. The springs will fall out. Takes about 5 minutes to change the rear springs in one of these cars.

Please un-Honduh that poor Camaro in the pic. It has all the stupid non-functional rĄcer crap in that drawing that we all love so much to hate. I almost barfed when I saw it. That's not "different", instead that's just joining up with and imitating the ignorant rĄce crowd... the kind of people who think that putting one of those silly park-bench wings on the [b[rear[/b] of a front-wheel-drive grocery cart will make it handle better somehow. I certainly don't and won't ever "envy" a car that looks like it has fart pipes on it.

Leave the poor man alone. He has his own tastes and it is HIS car after all. Not like YOU will be driving it around.

But anyway, yeah like he said, let the rear hang, remove the lower shock bolts, and the spring will pretty much fall out. Reverse process to install. The rears are easy. The fronts are harder.

coming on a bit strong are we having a bad day or something

rear springs are very easy to do, its the fronts that take a wee bit longer.

you usualy don't even have to drop the rear shock bolts, all the rear springs i have taken out, i just let the rear drop, and am able to pull them out by hand.

sometimes you have to squeeze a coil or 2 together a little, but you should be able to do that with you hands.
