1LE brake Question can you
Modify the spindle on the car??? is it just cutting off an ear and tapping a hole, correct???
Or do you have to remove the spindle to properly cut and tap it. I really didnt want to remove it if I didnt have to, can someone give me an insight

I suppose it could be done. It seems it would be a bit of a PITA, but I've never tried it so I can't say for sure.
What I chose to do was pick up a second set of spindles and have them modified. From there I'm going to assemble all my 1LE parts and do a simple spindle swap when I install my 1LE brakes.
Why are you hesitant to remove the spindels?

You have to cut off both upper and lower ears, and be really careful on that upper cut since the strut will be soooo close. It can be done on the car but you'll have to be careful to get those holes drilled and tapped straight.
Good luck!!

I can understand not wanting to have it re-aligned after just having it done. If your current brakes are still good I'd conitnue to drive the car for while and do the 1LE upgrade later. By then you'll be do for another alignment anyway.

I don't know if you have bought your 1LE parts yet, but if you haven't read this post and save yourself some money by using C4 corvette parts instead.

I did as BretD: I simply bought a second set of spindles from the bone yard. By doing it in that fashion, I could also easily paint (POR-15) the spindles.
