Weld Pro Star Fronts
Weld Pro Star Fronts
I'm going to order Weld Pro Star front wheels (unless anyone has a pair to sell). I plan to drive the car on the street as well as the drag strip. Would the 15x4 or the 15x3.5 be a better choice? Or does it really make a big difference when they're that small? What size tire should I run?
I'd run atleast the 4" for street use. I agree, pizza cutters aren't for the street. No one makes a tire that fits on them properly and is DOT approved. I'm about to go 15x10 rear and 15x6 front. good enough for a street/drag car...

There are quite a few people locally around here that are running the 3.5/4" wheels up front with Volkswagen tires. Seems to be running great. Many have been for years.

Three cars I can think off hand, each 3500+ weight. Each driven on street. All three trapping at 125+ mph one at 145+. Driven on street and had no complaints about stopping or turning.
Granted, they don't drive around like F1 drivers, they are easy around turns and pay attention while driving. For the most part they are pretty safe. The above people are really pushing the limits in the fact that they are trapping at greater speeds than a volkswagen tire is even rated at. Even more so dangerous based of the fact that the car weighs twice the weight of a bettle.
