Need help quick! Car grinding on turns...
So all of a sudden, my car starts making one of those great noises that just makes you want to bite off your tongue. You know the kind. Sounds like metal grinding against metal and getting bounced around.
It happens when my front right tire hits about a 45º angle to the subframe on right-handers. Happens to be about right at the apex of any given right-hand corner. It's not the wheel rubbing, we checked that.
The other day i had a freeway blowout on the front right, where the sound is, and had to drive a space on it before I could pull over. My only guess is that the hub spline is losing thread when I crank it. Ideas? Quickly? I wanna autox this week and I need practice. Much, much practice.

It's probably the tire rubbing against the plastic inner wheelwell skirt. Maybe something happened when the tire blew out to dislodge one or more of the plastic retainer pins and allow the skirt to hang down.

It's most certainly not a plastic noise. This is that sharp, screetching metal on metal sound. Nothing looks like it was hitting together on the outside when we looked. The brake caliper looks a little tight, but the heat shield looked okay and all the suspension appears normal externally. Any other ideas?

Maybe a bearing is bad and it is only noticable when the wheel is loaded/unloaded? I would pull the dust cap and look for metal shavings, or any slop in there. I would do it soon before the spindle gets damaged.
It might be worth your time to check the ball joint too and inner/outer tie rods.
