How much for a Steering Box?
Hey guys I noticed my sterring box is starting to leak and I was just courious how much they are to replace and if its a huge job. Also I need a new powersteering pump and I will prob do it this weekend, How much do they run?? thanks
not really a big job, try the yellow pages under auto parts and call, prices change from area to area. last time i checked on one it was around 150, don't remember for what now, with a pretty high core.

Depending on your PS pump, you may need a special puller to get the pulley off. If you don't have the right puller, you will bend the pulley very quickly.

Have you considered going to a 12:1 steering box? It is expensive. I think summit has it for around $330.00 but it is suppose to help quite a bit. There was an article in the march 2003 issue of Chevy High Performance Mag. about switching to an AGR steering box, 1 7/16" front sway bar, .904" rear sway bar and adding four new 275/40/17's all the way around to the car. The car pulled a .95g on the skidpad and a 66.9 mph slalom.
Now that was compared to a stock '99 corvette which pulled a .91g and 61.0 mph. Not bad huh?
