2 problems with brake pressing

ok, i have a 1986 Trans Am. 2 problems, one is when the brake is pressed the wheel turns to the left so you have to hold onto the wheel really good when braking; two my brake doesn't exactly start working until pedal is at least half way pressed. Any idea on what is going wrong with it. i mean i'm only a teenager and i don't have money to see what the problem is and then fix it.

Car pulls ...
--------------
*Incorrect tire pressure - check tires
*Front end may be out of line - check for tire bolding on the sides
*Brake line(s) may be clogged
*Damaged shoes and lining - warped disk, oil on shoes or disk(s)
*loose calipers

Half way for pedel
-----------------------
*May have air in the line - bleed brakes
*Worn shoes - check for thickness
*Vacuum - check line for cracks

well this is what I could think of....

Yeah thanks. I'll have to bleed the brakes for the half pedal ting and i might just have to check out the julting while i'm doing that.
