diameter of course!

actually if that was the width, it would look like Fred Flintstone's car but stick to the road like a gummy bear in Arizona.

There's a guy around here with an old Civic...the thing must have 12" diameter wheels, with 15" wide tires. Damndest looking thing you ever saw, with that huge gap in the wheel wells and tires sticking out nearly a foot on each side...
Stock tires run just over 26" diameter.
