clunking when I accelerate hard

I get this clunking when I hit it hard, sounds to me like the tranny tailshaft is hitting the floor. When I went under the car to try to push up on the tranny to see if the tranny mount was bad I couldn't push the tailshaft up no matter how hard I pushed, and I'm a pretty big guy. So what else could be causing this?

well....the tranny is kind of hard to push up even if you are a big guy. How does it look visually?

you can usually tell if they're bad as they'll have cracks in them.

But if it's the original one i'd just change it, they're pretty cheap. Milage dosnt really have alot to do with it as rubber just decays over time.

It's the trans mount. Just change it, and put in a Prothane or Energy Suspension poly one instead of a stock one. That stoooopid blob of spooge that loosely glues the trans to the car is useless. Even with the (mostly) stock L69 still in my car, one time when I put a new one in the car, I backed down the driveway, and broke it in half the first time I let the clutch out. They are garbage.

Trans mount.

While I was under there, I changed to a energy torque arm bushing, it helped the car feel more solid.

thanks, I should have probably changed it anyways since I hadn't already. It was definately broke, the bottom part came down with the crosmember. It definately feels better now and no more clunking...Thanks guys
