Alton SFC's and jacking car....

I was really close to getting the Alton SFC's because of all the recommendations, but I hear that they may be so far to the inside of the car that it may be hard to get a jack on them. This is one of the major reasons I have for buying them - so I NEED to know if this is a problem or not. I have a standard 2 or 3 ton floor jack, if that helps.

Get soem Spohn-style SFCs for jacking. They run right along the sides of the car under the doors, so they're very easy to get to. And in the end, you can always add on Alston's later. The two designs are completely different and can be used together.

First of all, I realized I spelled Alston wrong, but caught it too late lol.

I had no idea they could be used together - thats awesome. Expensive, but awesome! I guess I'll go ahead with the Spohns for now then. Thanks. Any comments people still have on this, I'd like to hear, though.

go with the alstons, thats what i have and i love them. but for jacking, good luck. i lowererd my car with the eiback kit. iam unable to use a floor jack to jack under the front a-arm. iam also unable to jack under the sfc. i am also unable to jack under anything with a bottle jack as well. you could drive up on some 2x4 or something, but if you get stuck with a flat or something or your car dies where it shouldnt, good luck. i folded my factory jack trying to lift the car so i cant tell you how it works. i guess in my situation, the sfc didnt affect any jacking points

Tell me that I've read this message wrong? I interepreted this as that after the Alston's are on, it's impossible to slide a floor jack underneath? These block the factory jacking points?

Or are we talking about using the alston's as a lift point?

Alstons don't affect the factory jack points on the pinch rail. It's just that if your car is lowered you won't have enough ground clearance to get a floor jack under the SFC. If your car is stock height, you may or may not be able to (depending on how much your springs are sagging.)

The Spohn sytle SFC's make much better jacking rails, but the Alston design strengthens the car better from what I've seen.

No I wanted SFC's primarily so it would be easier to jack the car (ie, jack on the SFC's). I doubt it affects the stock jacking points, but it does not work for me since i wanted them specifically for jacking. Thats why I'm getting the Spohns now.

This lightweight aluminum floor jack from Harbor Freight should fit. I measured just over 3.5" clearance.

Just use your factory supplied jack to lift the car up ever so slightly in order to get a floor jack underneath. Thats what I do.
