4th gen rear end install with drum brakes

Can I use my drum brakes from my original rear end when swapping in the new 10 bolt out of an `02 T/A?

I don't have the rear disc setup yet and I am looking for doing the swap cheap. I already have the `02 axle without the brakes.

Thanks!

You can but why Degrade your brake system? You can find 4th gen brake systems on eBay or from sellers on some of the 4th gen sites.

E-mail me if you have any other questions...

Acutally I have every intention of adding the LS1 brakes over the winter, I am just looking to get the swap done quick so I can get the rear end out of my garage and have more room.

I've seen the LS1 rear brakes as low as $125 + $28 shipping, but I just want to get the swap done in a day or two and worry about the brakes later basicly.
