Rear sway bar question
Rear sway bar question
Currently rebuilding an 89 iroc. Bought the car from a buddy of mine, which he striped the car to race. I putting the car back together with a 350 ramjet crate motor am very close to finishing the car, but I have a question about the rear sway bar. The rear sway bar he gave me will not fit, which now he believes that the sway bar he gave me may be for an LS1 (it is like 33 or 34 mm), and that is the only rear sway bar that he can fine at his house.
So, I call the local GM dealership to see about buying a new one for the car. However, I was told that the biggest rear sway bar that came on an 89 was 21mm. But, I thought you could get a bigger sway bar than that for an 85 to 90 iroc (but I could be wrong).
Could somebody please enlighten me.
Thanks,
Chad

I say why bother with the Gm Dealer and go aftermarket, There are plenty of choices and sizes. Summit and others sell plenty . Do a search and you will find lots of info... Good luck

If its 30mm or bigger its probably the front bar.The biggest factory Rr bar for a 3rd gen was 24mm.But as suggested just go with aftermarket.I like hotchkis Ive got both their bars(fr 1 7/16-Rr 1in).....
