If you had to pick one suspesion part to do..

what would it be? Just one part. i.e. LCA's, torque arm, panhard bar, stb & wonderbar... which one would give me the best benifit for both turning and traction?

why just one? the real secret to suspension is making it all function together, and work as a system. that being said, the torque arm is one of the best mods. if you don't already have them sub-frames will also make a HUGE change, and should be the first mod done to these cars. springs and/or shocks/struts can also make a dramatic change in the car. ack, there are so many things.

Neither of those you listed. I know you've heard it before, but subframe connectors will make one of the most dramatic differences in not just handling, but all around performance. I was amazed at how much of a difference they made with my handling, rattles, and overall feel of the car. Everyone insists on subframes for a reason!

so far all sounding good to me. I wana do my own testing, and i would like to see what would give me the best gain in performance and fell of the car. Subframes are a great idea and are on my list, but thats something i cant do myself, where i could do LCA's, torque arm, etc.. myself. I still want to hear some more ideas.

You haven't changed anything yet?

If not, my #1 recommendation is polyurethane end links for both anti-sway bars. Part # ENS-9-8117G from http://www.summitracing.com . Big improvement in cornering for only 28 bux!

<a href="https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/showthread.php?s=&threadid=184552">I'd list others</a>, but you just asked for one.

Why not??? Get a set of bolt in ones (i like the ones tds has im getting a set this winter) and bolt em in in your garage. They will be fine bolted on and if you ever want that added bit of insurance you can just get em welded up shouldnt cost more then 50 bucks max either way there are enough people that never weld them and are fine. Get some sfc's just about everyone on here will swear by them as your first chassis/suspension mod.

If you never do another thing to your car, Put SFC on it.
Here is a list of mods to my suspension and it cuts 1.39 60ft times.
Also this is the order that I would do them in.

SFC
Boxed LCA
Relocation brackets
Hal 12 way adj. shocks on rear
Bolt In 9" rear from Moser
Slicks
Rear anti Roll Bar

Everything else on the suspension is stock, Including the Torque Arm, Springs and EVERYTHING in the front end.

HERE is a link to my car in action

Al: You've got T-tops, right?

SFCs period. Then bushings and shocks. You won't believe the difference.

Shocks and struts. End of story. No other single part will make as big of a difference in handling.

Konis are my recommendation. Reds if you want a nice ride. Sports if you want a real performance ride.

subframe connectors. that should be the first mod anyone should get. and if you're only getting one mod, get them. get them welded. and never worry about body flex ever again. any other suspension mod you do relies on the strength of the body and frame, so go get those SFCs.

After that, just go with whatever your cash allows or as needs arise. get LCAs, a wonderbar, strut tower brace, springs, shocks & struts, panhard rod, sway bars, bushings & endlinks, torque arm, BLAH BLAH BLAH... I mean the list is huge.

One item only...for turning and Traction? Good Shocks without a doubt. Koni's preferred. Should be first item on a build list.

Take ANY car- doesn't matter, even a yugo- Put a good set of roadrace shocks AND a good set of tires- It will handle better than any other upgrade you can buy.

Too many people settle with medium grade performance shocks and tires instead of putting there money where it counts. I'll give an example- Stock brakes and top of the line street tires will stop a car FASTER than big brakes and cheap tires.

You ask for one suspension upgrade? Like Chickenman said, and I'll second- A good set of roadrace shocks- I too only run Koni for best over the counter performance.
