Rear Sway bar idea
Rear Sway bar idea
Anybody ever consider reversing the mounting of the rear sway bar to reduce unsprung weight? What i mean is mounting the center of the bar to the chassis and the ends to the rear? I don't know if there is anyway to fit it that way but i think its worth the unsprung weight reduction

It is a good thought- You are correct that the trouble is fitting it.
You could go to a frame mount Coleman torsion bar with arms dropping down to the axle. However-
1) the size bar and arm lengths would have to be calculated properly for the right balance of tension
2) the panhard ros and brace would have to be moved. I know how I could engineer this, but it would involve moving the fuel cell to the rear seat area and incaging it from the drivers cockpit. Then add a j-bar stup in the rear in place of the panhard.
If I ever go full race with this car- which I doubt (Have one already) thats what I'd do.I have already then wasted alot of money on parts that were intended on just being a street use car.
Then we are talking Penske remote-reservoir coilovers, and an aluminum quickchange rearend to go with it.
