3rd gen feature in CHP
Well, not exactly CHP, but one of their offshoot magazines, "Camaro".
Everyone remember that couple from Houston, TX who took that 88 Iroc hardtop, converted it to T-tops, and then finally to a convertible?? You would def remember the paint job....white nose with white flames over a deep red? 19in rear tires and 18in front?
Yeah..so anyway, they got a great layout from a car show in Waco, Tx. The article said that they took the "front clip" from an 00' Z28 and put it in the third gen. Along w/ the front clip came rack and pinion, and of course the brakes/coil-overs.
I guess I'm confused about the term "front clip". Does that mean that grabbed a 4th gen K-member with all the goodies? Or was there more involved.
I've seen the wife post here maybe a few times but I can't remember usernames.

THats an old pic of it. It has different wheels now.
He used the whole front clip from a 4th gen including firewall and just hung 3rdgen fenders and nose on it.
It's featured in this month's Camaro performers magazine.

Wow...until now...did not know that was even possible. Lots of owrk I'm sure....But anyone who takes the effort to convert a hardtop to a vert must have enough motivation to do the front clip.
I noticed the fender lips ride high despite 18in rims up front. Does not look quite right, but I am not denouncing one bit the amount of work/quality it takes to make something like that happen.
Anyone notice the door sills?
