when you weld on the SFCs under the car, the floorpan can get hot enough to ignite the carpet.
alot of people pull back the carpet..... others just wet it down really good.

Having the suspension loaded means that the weight of the car is on the tires. Or, it means that the car was lifted in such a way that the weight is on the suspension- an example of which would be raising the back with jackstands under the axle, and raising the front with jackstands under the lower control arms. This can be a dangerous way to lift a car... keep all safety procedures in mind.
Inducing a "preload" into a suspension is bad- that means you tightened down bushing bolts when the car's wheels were free-hanging (car lifted in the air by the frame). So when you put the car back on the ground, since you tightened the bolts with the suspension hanging, the suspension keeps it's "shape"- wheels hanging down. That results in a car being (A) higher then it was before you did the work and (B) with poor handling. A preload is induced into the bushings, which means the bushings are twisting up- they're trying to return to the same "shape" as when the wheels were hanging down.
Hope that helps!
