Alston SFCs fitment problem

well ive just about had it with these things. there too much gapage in some areas where they sit on the subframes, up to 3/8s of an inch, some spots are so tight i cant fit the welder in to weld or a drill to even attempt to use the bolts. they dont sit right on the subframes at all, i guess kinda lopsided. but since i already started to weld one in i guess im screwd. well i planned to double up on SFCs by usin the alstons and then a spohn or hotchkis style down the pinch welds. heres my idea to get these to fit right. ive thought of cuttin the sides of the bracket parts of them, and just welding the plate to the bottom of the SFCs. this will fit better IMO and give me a lot more room to get the mig welder in thre to weld em up. the only thing im worried about is without the sides the SFCs being weak?
