i've seen them for Fox body Mustangs, and i think that before i bought my TA back i saw one for 82-92 F-bodies as well. does anyone know if they're available? and what gains would i get by using one?

http://www.paracing.net/gm_products1.htm

I remember reading that it actually weakens the front chassis area because its not nearly as strong as the original k member, anyone have any IIRCs?

Ive got an AJE (anthony jones engineering) one and I like it....As to what gains you will see??? Its Lighter....and it makes it easier to getto the bottom end of the engine....ANd clears Turbo headders ..

I cant remember the exact savings for just the K-member but you could feel the difference between it and the stock ones...

as t how much faster you would be it is Not worth mentioning....standard rule is you go 1 tenth faster in the quarter mile for each 100 LBS you drop in weight.... so if there is any truth there then your talking a Fraction of a 10th faster.... then you get aslight advantage at the dragstrip by taking weight out of the front.... but thats about it....

He brings up a good point. A tubular k member allows us to have better clearance around the engine bay and, more space to add things such as custom headers for turbos. Pretty much anything that is not already designed for our cars can be easily implemeted with the added space that a tubular k member allows.

Yeah there is a Large improvement in the amount of room in the engine bay....
Plus the other advantage is you can get them made up with mounts for rack and pinion steering which ID like to switch to sometime down the road...

the weight savings sounded cool, but the ability to plumb a turbo into the system easily totally kicks ***! you guys realize how much debt you're causing me by telling me this, correct?

My brother bought the PA Racing one for his Iroc, and it is awesome. He got his set up with the rack mounts for that little conversion. I don't think that it is weaker than the stock one, that son of a b... is stout, but super light by comparison. I will be ordering one myself, as well as a set of their tubular a-arms, unless Spohn comes up with some, for about the same $$ before then.

love mine.....i can change my headers easier then my plugs!!

mine is chromoly from pa racing as well as the front a arms. have a few guys also running the mild steel with no problems. i don't see the real advantage though unless you need or want the room. it's nice but the complete setup isn't cheap.

Just go all the way and buy double a-arm tubular front end w/ coil overs. Lots of space then. Then you can get the fiberglass lift off front end.

I just looked at the centerspread of new products in my S&W catalog and saw "their" K-members and front suspension components for the 3rd gens. I also seen the PA Racing logo on the front of the K-member, and a Performance Automotive banner within the ad.
