How to stop rubbing with 255's up front
I am considering going with a set of 255/50/16's all the way around. My car came stock with the 16 inch Z28 rims and I believe has the quick ratio steering box as well so it should have the locks for the larger 245 tires correct? I know some people have rubbing issues with 255's up front at full lock, but is there anything I can do to prevent this rubbing? Can I do some clearancing, etc?

well seeing as you have the RS version, the springs are more than likely shot. look here to see what happened to a 92 RS i put new springs in: http://www.fl-thirdgen.org/frontspringswap.html
so if the car is sagging that much the 255/50-16 will rub. i've seen them on z28 cars and not rub. as far as if they are only rubbing on the inside during a full lock, you can weld some more material on the stops that are located on the lower control arms. but i wouldn't worry about it though. you don't make full lock turns except to get out of a parking space.

FYI, I have 275/40/17's all the way around with Eibach lowering springs. I have a minimal amount of rubbing when the tires were new. When I get a few hundred miles on them its all good.
