minor gearbox adjustment needed?

I have a little bit of play in my steering, that seems to be an equal ammont in both directions.
first I'll go ahead and let you all know every thing from the gearbox down(including the gearbox) is only a few months old.

I finaly got sick of the play and had a friend of mine turn the steering wheel back and forth with the ignition in the on position but the car not running.
the steering shaft moves perfectly with the steering wheel, and the little grear that it connects to on the gear box immedalty moves with it, but the gear the pitman arm connects to doesnt move at all.
the gearbox is a remanufactured one so Im wondering if this may be the reason for this problem. misadjustment due to a hurried reman possably? I read some where that its common for remaned boxes to be adjusted wrong.

I was thinking about adjusting it with some one moving the steering wheel back and forth to let me know when the play goes away, but wanted your alls oppinions first.

Your sure its not the steering coupler, lash in the linkage, air in the ps system, or box loose on the frame? If everything there checks ok then go here
