Strut Tower Braces
Whats a good place to find one, and whats a good brand to go with? Also, a question on brakes, wheres a good place to find calipers, pads and rotors, and whats a good brand. Last thing, would replacing the brake lines with braided steel hoses do any good?

Do you have TPI or TBI or carb? They make different ones for different set-ups. I love my Edelbrock TBI brace. It is a 3 point brace that ties in the firewall. However this will not clear a TPI system and you have to use a 2 point system. No big deal though.check out jegs and summit for some. Also click on thunderracings site above. They will have BMR ones as well as many others.

I have a 350 TPI. I was looking at Spohns website and I got a wealth of information there, but they didnt have the strut tower braces, I recently got my first summit and jegs catalogs, ill be sure to dig around in them, as well as checking out thunderracing. Thanks for the info!

I when with the BMR 3pt. STB. I really liked the way the car drives with it on. This is the only one I've tried so there might be a better one out there but the BMR still made a big improvement.
spohn sells the good ss brake lines, they are a worthy mod and still need to put them on; should help alot.
look in the kenny brown 3pt stb, or i think spohn is coming out with stb's soon also.

As I recall, Sphon announced at one point that he was coming out with several STB's in the spring--to include one for a carbed car with dual snorkel. My hopes are up!

I made my own for $50 using another members design. I love it. As far as changing the way the car "feels" while driving, this is one of the best mods I've done. Can't believe I went for so long without it (ditto for performance struts).

I have the Edelbrock STB for the TBI setup. My car has a Holley carb and Edelbrock Air Gap intake on it works great. I also put one of those braces on down under the front frame rails to them together to keep from cracking the frame around the steering box. Wow!! what a difference in the way the car handles. I have lowering sprins on the front along with Energy Suspension bushings all around. I say definately put the brace on these cars. I need to do a brake upgrade next. So much to do, so little cash...
