Need HELP please, with offset for 17 x 11 !!!

I will be putting a set of 17 x 11 ZR-1 wheels on the back of my car and I need help with offset.

I will also have a Moser 12 bolt from a 4thgen under the car.

So, with my 4thgen rear, what offset do I need to get my 17 x 11 ZR-1's in, so they dont rub or stick out too bad ??

I shouldn't need spacers in the rear since I have a 4thgen rear, right?

I think youll be alright in the rear. To figure out what spacer you need just measure the backspacing of your curent wheels and the new ones and subtract.

Are you saying that I WILL need a spacer even with my 4thgen 12-bolt ?

I thought if you had a 4thgen rear, you dont have to run a spacer?

Why don't you read :

http://www.skulte.com/adapterfaq.html

And measure what you've got, and calc what you need according to the method described in the above faq.

Si.

1bad,

Once you figure out what you are going to do about wheel fitment, post your results. I too am trying to figure out how to make the 17 x 11s fit a 4th Gen rear. I found a stock SS rear for really cheap and would like to throw that in my 92. I would need to get a matching pair of wheels though.

The specs on that website were useful for me as a possible starting point...

I dont have the wheels nor rear end yet.

Thats why I needed the info, cause there are a few offset choices to choose from when buying a 17x11 ZR-1 wheel.

I dont want to buy the wrong ones!

I think it's the 36.5mm offset if I'm not mistaken with the 4thgen rear. I'm doublechecking that now as well...have a 4thgen rear under my car, but could really use a 12 bolt!

Correction: with a 4thgen rear and 36.5mm offset tires you'd stick out another 3/4 of an inch so you'd probably need more fender flare...according to the chart on www.skulte.com, with a 3rdgen rear a high offset (50mm) 17x11 wheel needs a 2" spacer...the exact spacing you get with a 4thgen rear. So you should be fine with 50mm offset wheels.

So, if you are running or are planning on running a 4th Gen rear and want to use 17 x 11s, get the ones with the 50mm backspacing to fit inside the fender. I really want to run the wider rear tyres if I put a 4th Gen rear in the car, but I DO NOT want the tyres to stick out too much. About a 1/2 inch is all I could stand. I am afraid it would look dumb if I lowered the car. I guess I could ask the body shop to add some flare to the rear fenders.

A body shop could do that right????? I don't even know how one would go about doing that kind of thing...

Thanks for the info though!!!
