How should car be sitting when SFCs are welded in?

would the car being lifted or on stands effect how the car will sit/ride when welded in? if the frame/body is bowed when lifted. wouldnt their be problems?

anyone have problems? or how was your car sitting when they were put in. i dont want mine welded in in the wrong angle/position because the car was hanginf crazy on one side ect.

The SFCs should be installed on a drive-on lift, where the weight is dispersed evenly on all four wheels.

What he said. I did mine with the front on ramps and the rear up on jackstands. ever jack your car up to change a tire? a front tire? while the wheel is off the ground look at the gap where the door meets the fender. at the top, near the hood the gap will spread over 1/2"- the bottom of the fender will be almost touching the door. make sure your car is flat and level before you weld !! when i was shoping for a garage to put mine on i had so many shops tell me " sure, bring it on in and we'll throw it on the lift"

how much would it cost for you to get it on a lift or get a shop to just do it for you?

most shop charge around 110 for sfc's install, a good muffler shop will be able to do it.

Well if you can weld it yourself, why not just put it up on 4 ramps?

I paid $70 to install my Alstons at my local muffler shop.

Is there anything that should be done before you weld in your sfc's? Like alignment, checking the frame's straightness, etc? Or just keep the suspension loaded and go?

Laters,

if you do it at home, or not on a drive on lift take some referance readings with an angle finder on a known level surface. support the car on jackstands and replicate the angle finder readings.

you just need the chassis loaded on the suspension..

so you could just drive it on ramps, then put a jack under the rear, and lift it... then put stands under the rear axle.

the suspension is loaded just like when its on the ground.

If I put in sfc and then lower my car will it mess up the angle? Should I lower it first?
