I think what you need is the inner tie rod. I waited and did everything at once, tie rods, ball joints, drag link, pitman and idler arms. check all of these cause there is a good chance they are worn as well.

i know the idler arm was just done before i bought the car along with new brake lines. Will the tie rod make the car feel wobbly? Cause that is what's happening.

Yes it will. Mine would actually wander from one side of the road to the other. It was due to the worn suspension parts shifting under different loads. If that is all that is worn then you should be able to feel a difference.

how dangerous is it to drive with it worn like that? I can't afford the whole thing quite yet...need some overtime for it.....so can ni drive on it like that for a few more days....i've been driving on it like that for about 2 weeks now and it doesn't seem to have gotten any worse...

I dont want to tell you its safe if its not, cause I havent seen the vehicle to know for sure. Normally I would tell someone to fix it immediatly, but on the other hand I am pretty broke myself so I know how you feel. After I knew that my suspension was worn I drove for over six months and several 1000 mile trips. It got bad enough where the inside of my tires were beginning to wear, and that is what finally made me do it. An 18 inch tire is not something I like to replace often. I dont know how bad yours is so just use your better judgement. I spent probably a little over $200 dollars for all mine. Good luck

Was it the wheel bearing that was loose? Mine had the same problem.

it wasn't the bearing loose...it was the nut that holds the bearings in. The guy popped the cap off...took out the cotter pin...tightened the nut 1/4 turn..put the pin back in. Problem fixed. I'm going to have the bearings replaced anyway. Don't exactly know if they were ever done before....better to be safe then sorry.

you said the part in the picture was loose though... and thats not even close to being a bearing. thats IS an inner tierod and if that is loose and no replaced, itll be a serious problem. if that goes you will not be able to steer the car. if thats not what your problem is then remember this for future refrence

He is right, if the suspension is loose it is a safey hazard. Also if the bearing was loose most likely it is worn. Tightening the bearing is just a band-aid, I also know where your coming from so I would just fix it as soon as possible.

you can get a whole moog suspension frontend rebuild kit from sphon for like 300 which is a nice price considering moog stuff is pricy. mogg makes some great chassis stuff, i wouldnt use anything else. the kit will cover inner/outter tierods, lower ball joints, idlerarm, heavy duty tierod sleeves and i forgot what the last part was id invest if your having frontend problems
