Spring Dilemma, step inside
Im a suspension newbie so here's the deal. I plan on doing a bunch of suspension mods this spring but i'm at a dilemma. I need new springs since my stock ones are very saggy. I've already done all new shocks and struts so I plan on moving to more things now. Here's what I've narrowed it to:
1. Moog OEM replacement springs. They're only $100, but the only thing I'm concerned with is if they will make my car look like a monster truck. Has anyone put these in and liked them?
2. Eibach or Hotchkis lowering springs. Now here's where it gets tricky. I like the look of lowered cars, but I already scrape my car on speedbumps but it could be due to my saggy springs. They cost $200, but then do I really need to buy LCA relocation brackets, and a new panhard bar?
Is there anyone out there with just lowering springs on a stock suspension? Any problems?
Im thinking im probably going to go with the Moog's due to them being cheaper. I also plan on getting all new poly bushings to go with them. Can anyone suggest a set? The cheapest complete set I found was at spohn.

Well if you like the looks of a lowered car then forget about the moogs cause it will raise your car back to stock height. Since your car is probably already sagging, expect an inch lift or so with the moogs. As for the Eibachs plenty of people on this board have them with stock suspensions w/o encountering problems. You dont really "need" the aftermarket stuff unless you drop more than 2 inches, but it's nice to have. FYI, you could search about this subject and read/research the posts until your eyes fell out of your head.
thx for the input. I think I'm probably going to go with the Moog's since they are cheaper and camaro's are already low enough at their stock ride high as it is. I'd hate to get the lowering springs and not be able to hook up on dry pavement and scrape the front of my car on every speedbump and dip in the road.

Aftermarket springs may acutally raise your car if your stock ones are sagging that bad. Either way you should still have the same amount of fender gap (that is if your stock springs are that bad) and you shouldn't skrape over normar driving because the rebound rate will be much better. I would deffinately go with some aftermarket lowering springs. If you plan on getting new wheels and tires I would suggest the Sportlines. But if you plan on keeping the stock tire size height I would look at Hotchkiss, BMR, or the pro kit that only drop about an inch.
