strut mount bearing bad?
I'm in the process of replacing my struts and balljoints and I have the passenger strut out of the car. I put my finger in to check the strut mount bearing and it turns fine but has a grinding to it. I haven't checked the driver's side yet, as I'm doing one side at a time. Do they have some more life to them? I'm not sure how this affects my steering. There's 182k kms (113k miles) on the car. Thanks for any insight.

Can't really penetrate the bearings... I'm onto the driver's side now and its quite grindy, but the bearing is in there tight. Anyone have the same experience when doing their front suspension?

Sounds like some dirt got in there and is acting as an abrasive. Even if the bearing is ok to use, the rubber donut around it is old and may be close to failing. If you can afford it, I'd get new mounts.
i have a nasty creaking coming from the front on the drivers side...i replaced the ball joint but that wasnt it...man was that not fun...but im getting a new strut soon, gonna try that....if either of those arent it....anyone have any otehr ideas?
