Thanks Ward for info on my problem with my e brake on my 1983 z28. I went to my local GM dealer today and had the service manager bring up two recall CAMPAIGN notices on my car. One was or the problem on the e brake, and another was for the seat belt recoil mechanism. He printed them out for me. GM said in it that they would repair at no cost this e brake mecanism no matter who owned the car or no matter how many miles was on the car...so he will check with his boss in Detroit this thurs. and let me know..he said it is possible they will fix it. He checked to see if it had ever been fixed by using my vin. no., and nothing showed. Since these two are basically safety problems, maybe they will fix it, if it was not fixed by GM under other owners, they are going to further check and let me know. I have a friend who owns a body shop next door, he thought they may fix it,and urged me to get it in writing in case they turn me down, I can go to GM directly. He has seen numerous recalls that were fixed years later. Ward, I tried to email you directly but it came right back..is your box full?
