brake swap

can brakes off a corvette be put on a 86 z28? if so, is it just the calipers or can the rotors be used also? and what yr corvettes could these parts be taken from?

i know for sure you can use c4 stuff, i think ive seen people using c5 stuff

they would be goin under 15X 9.5 rims...if that makes a difference

To answer your question, yes...both the C4 standard and C4 HDs will fit, I've made them both work. If you have 15" wheels, the standard C4s are your only option. The 13" HDs and the C5 brakes will require 16 and 17" wheels respectively.

so those could be breaks off of ANY C4 vette? or is it only certain models?

Standard C4 brakes need to be from a '88-94 model. All brakes were HD from '95-96.

do they bolt right up, or do they need some fabrication or an aftermarket bracket?

Yep, you'll need some fab work, this isn't a bolt on thing exactly, but it can be. A few guys on the boards including myself can do the custom stuff. You'll need the spindles, custom brackets, and hubs made, and then all the brake parts. Also longer studs for the hubs.
