Torque specs?

I redid my whole rear suspension. Anyone have the torque specs for the panhard bar, LCA's, torque arm bolts, sway bar mounts, and shocks? I was told to torque eveything while the suspension was settled (under weight). Is jacking the car up thru the center on the differential and torqueing this way sufficient enough? Also how far do you compress new poly endlinks?

Should your suspension be loaded when you snug everything up. I was planning on doing my front suspension this weekend (sway bar bushings, endlinks and a TDS Wonderbar). If so, how do I load the front suspension.

i do know that when you tighten everything the car should be at ride height i.e. on the ground with zerio jackstands or you could place jackstands directly under the four wheels then tighten.

I assume you could compress each side with a jack and torque too..... yes? no?

That is the way I do it. You want them really tight. The suspension only really has to be loaded for SFC's.

As for the endlinks. You want to tighten them down until the bushing is about as wide as the washer. I usualy tightten then down so that they are almost the same diameter. If it looks like you are squishing down one side of the bushing and not the other, stop.

So your car does not have to be at ride height when you snug them up? I think it would be pretty hard to get under there and get everything "really damn tight" with the wheels on the ground.

Yea it is tight but you can do it with the car on jack stands. I have torqued stuff down with the suspension loaded and unloaded. Depending if I decided to use jack stands or ramps that day.

So I can just put the jack stands on my SFC and leave the wheels hanging and I will be good to go?

yup. It doesn't matter if the LCA and panhard mounts are loaded or not. They are not being loaded in the direction to tighten them down. Therefore doing it either way will not have an affect on them.

I have to agree with Shifty and Ede. I've always tightened that stuff down using an impact with the car off the ground and never had any adverse effects.

All went well on the install, I just put the jack stands on the subframe. The car did sit pretty high when I put her down but I just drove around the block and she settled. I did break a cheapo ratchet and bust my knuckles on those old bolts. Man I wish I had a compressor.

P.S. Gotta love that Wonderbar.
