okay i just got some kyb shocks/struts, car handles better then it did before, cant complain. only thing is i do live in new york city, so hitting them potholes hurt like hell, they make me feel like im breaking my ride hitting them, i havent replaced the springs, springs looked shot to , anybody know if i should replace them? what kind should i get, i dont want to lower my car .

Easy solution...don't hit the potholes.

if you wanna replace the springs and keep the stock ride height use moog stock replacements.

how much they run for, ima have to tell my mechanic when i put my brakes in this week to check if anything is loose, the rear end tends to make a wierd rattling noise, sometimes it scares me

what kind of noise does the rearend make? it is possible that you may need to rebuild your rearend...that is a last resort if you try other things first and nothing cures it

daym, well its kind of something knocking , only happens when i hit a bump, i can be doing a 360 and the car dont make a bit of noise, maybe i'll record something

Oh yeah, there's the cure all eh? Just don't hit any potholes. Pluuueeezzz! Any of the big cities back east are nothing but potholes. It's no different where I live either since my state has no road repair budget to speak of and too many damn kids to raise. So until we all live in a utopia with perfectly maintained roads, potholes are a fact of life. As far as springs go, since you don't want to lower it any like the other 99 percent of thirdgen owners, you're in luck pricewise. Eibach and other comparable lowering springs run in the neighborhood of $200. However, you can pick up the stock Moog or TRW replacements from most parts stores for about $65 a pair. I bought a set of stock Iroc springs to replace my RS springs with and I ended up using the pair of Moog rear springs I had already bought several months earlier, because they were actually stiffer than the stock rear Iroc springs. I considered lowering mine at one point in time, but where I live the potholes and the entrances to driveways even give the four wheel drive vehicles trouble let alone a low riding sports car! I just laugh at the sport compact idiots who have lowered their cars so much, they have to go over railroad tracks at a severe angle going about 1 m.p.h.

Get moog replacements for a late IROC i think its the 5665/5662 combo. Thats what i run after bashing my car into the asphalt. there 100 bucks from summit or any parts store.

heh cool, thanks guys for the input. yeh nyc streets suck and seeing those stupid hondas lowered to the floor is hilarious. if you want to laugh park next to a big pothole and watch em do some major banging/scraping on there p.o.s when they run into them. about the moog springs, they sound pretty inexpensive, ima have to pick them up, i should of boughten them when i put my shocks/struts in, if i do lower the car id only lower it about 1 inch, but i think you wouldnt be able to tell the 1 inch difference. i dont want my wheels banging the wheelwell, any of you guys that have your car lowered with stock rims got pics? id love to see what it looks like, while your at it, let me know if its a pain in the *** driving
