it all depends on the tires, and the driver.

i have seen the .92g mark tossed around in reference to a 92 RS with the F41 option.

jut a note, in racing (i assume auto-x here) the driver is the most important part. with sticky tires, and a great driver, anything can get around the course fast

Assuming everything is in good condition, an 89 RS should be able to pull between .82 and .86 Gs without a problem. Anything less is not indicative of a thirdgen and there is some sort of fundamental problem.

Tires are THE crucial element here. Throw some R compounds on 16' wheels and you'll wonder why you bought all those suspension mods. Plus you'll understand why you need track time w/ an instructor.

I agree with srdynamics, I put Bfg R1's on my 86 years ago while doing solo 2, and pro solo. Nothing else I did suspension wise made as much a difference as those tires. I have Kuhmo victoracers now very sticky too. I used one of those g-tech's from a friend, and it showed .97g. I just need more power to come off the corners..at least in a straight line.

Agreed. I can't even describe how much I love my Eagle F1 GS tires. They work well with our cars. The only complaints I hear about them are when they are used on heavier cars and some fully optioned 4th gens.

I never used Eagle F1 tires, but I love my BFGoodrich G-Force TA KDW. It feels like I can hit an off ramp as fast as I want to.
