Ronal R15

I mounted my Ronal R15 wheels for the first time today on a 1991 Camaro Conver RS. Rears went great but the fronts are ever so slightly touching the tie rod ends. Any suggestions as to what type of spacer I need for a 1991 Camaro?

Thanks Renzo

If the supplied spacer isnt enough, you can either grind a little bit off the tie rod for clearance or see if a Mr. Gasket 7/16" spacer will give sufficent clearence.

You could put on 1LE brakes then you wouldn't need any spacers

Justin:

Does the 1 LE brake kit for the fronts push the front wheels out because of a different dimension on the rotor assembly?

I spoke with the Ronal Rep today. Although the wheels are no longer manufactured they continue to manufacture the spacers and special lug nuts that have longer shanks to allow passage throught the wheel mounting holes and finaly to the Spacer. I have ordered the spaces from him but the catch is that some wheels were manufactured with mounting holes large enough to pass the longer lug nuts while others were not. We do not know which wheels I have even by looking at the casting number behind. Given that no spacers wre supplied with the wheels I have, it is most likely that I will need to do some adidtional work. See Its a crap shoot, if the lugs work fine great, if not, he tells me I will need to have the mounting holes on the wheels inlarged by having them drilled out an additional 1/16 inch in diameter. I luv the look of these wheels but its no cheep upgrade. Oh well you know what they say, "you wanna play you gonna pay".

I measured the stud hole on one of my R15's. The hole is about 5/8ths (.607) of an inch. The diameter of the nut shank is .603. Good luck.

You could always use longer studs.
