I might not ever buy ceramic brake pads again. See picture below.

Both inner pads seperated!!!

Did you "brake" them in properly and bed the pads in properly?

Wouldn't matter anyways, they should not do that under any circumstances.

Doubt it has anything to do with it being ceramic, but more a quality control issue with the manufacturer.

being ceramic had nothing to do with that... its the bonding of the friction material to the backing that seperated... take that back, and get a refund... nothing else got destroyed?

AIMCO pads, and I found them like this on Saturday, 2 days after I had my car state inspected, and passed?!?!?!

I don't have the original box but have the receipt and will be taking them back today.

I'm just wondering how long they were like this.

I'm also going to put on new rotors they look like they got chewed up a little.

Well I got new rotors and new pads at no charge. =)

I hope this set doesn't seperate, I guess I'll have to check them often, =).

After I wear these down I get another set at no charge, =).

later

Wow, that's a mess. I'd hold off condemning all ceramic pads over this, even if your replacement Aimco pieces fail.

I beat the snot out of a set of Raybestos QS ceramics at Pocono 2x and Indy, they overheated and the friction surfaces got cratered, but they didn't separate from the backing plate.

Thats cause ceramix isnt a performance pad its a great street pad. They build up to much heat on the surface of the pad under alot of hard stops. They have the shortest stopping distance but if you keep putting the hard stops to them they are gonna over heat.
