Power steering pump threads?
What size is the pressure side? I am going to use a serp set from an 89 camaro with an aftermarket r/p in my 73 vette and need to get an adaptor to mate the provided hose with the camaro pump.
Thanks

Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
If they're anything like my 84 was, the pressure fitting is the one that has an actual fitting that threads into the back of the pump reservoir; the return is simply clamped onto a short section of hardlinewelded onto the reservoir.

This thread seems to indicate that they are 18mmx1.5 O ring fittings :

I need to replace this hose on my car too, and was thinking of routing this pipe round the other way so that instead of going from the pump towards the middle of the car and then forwards to go round to the steering box,, I was going to just go the shorter route of going from the pump towards the drivers side of the car and forwards. I think that the original manifold may have made this routing impossibel, but with headers there is plenty of room.
I'd appreciate confirmation that these fittings are indeed 18x1.5 o ring fittings....

Thanks! Was thinking of just getting the 2 lines spliced together but really need to get the eng and trans into the car so I can mock up everything.
Why do I have to do so much custom work?

Make sure you get hose thats up to the job. Here's a quote from one of the suppliers over here on power steering hoses :
"Power steering hoses.
These systems have a pressure hose and a return hose. The pressure
hose assemblies are subjected to the highest pressures found
in vehicle usage. Only the smooth bore PTFE with stainless steel
outer cover and Aeroquip FC300 single wire reinforced hose are
suitable the latter being the most cost effective, flexible and because
it has greater volumetric expansion (more give), less likely to
produce noises caused by hydraulic hammer. Aeroquip offer a limited
range of re-useable fittings mainly suited to American equipment
for both hoses."

ps. If it was too easy it wouldn't be as much fun!!

What I'm thinking of using is Aeorquip FC300 hose (this is not standard braided hose) with suitable steel 90degree -6AN fittings (FBM1389) and FCM2609 steel -6AN to 18mmx1.5 o-ring adaptors.
