Hmmm weird noise when turning..

Okay, I don't know if this is suspension related or drivetrain related as I haven't really inspected it much. Just noticed in the last day or two that my car whines quite a bit when making right turns. Whines a very little bit around left turns, but more-so on a right turn.

I figured it was a power steering issue but decided its not that since I can hear the power steering pump make a different and much quieter noise. Then I figured my tires may somehow be rubbing, but I don't think they are.

Could it be anything in my rear suspension at all, or even my differential? I just replaced the whole rear-end with an LS1 rear w/ 54k miles on it, and I've put maybe 1000 miles on the car since then. I'm hoping its a suspension issue and not a differential issue.

Basically, I want your input on possible causes. It is a whining noise...not a scraping noise.

Don't rule out your power steering pump... Because that's exactly what it sounds like.

I bet your fluid is low in it.

Amazing how many people I see with this problem that just ride it out for months... And they NEVER check the fluid.

I get that too...
I just try not to cut that hard.
Rather not hear it.
I wonder what that is...

That's hte power steering pump going into pressure bypass mode or whatever its called. If I remember right, if you leave your wheel turned full lock for a while when the car is running, that can ruin your PS pump. I never did figure out what the problem was, haven't really cared much. I do have to put a bit more fluid in my PS pump, but that's not what's making the noise. I think a simple differential fluid drain and fill would fix it actually. Maybe the current stuff didn't have posi additive or something..not sure. I didn't change it when I installed this rear like I should have. I also have at least one bent axle, so that may be the problem as well. I'm currently looking for a new rearend again. Something that is already somewhat built up with 3.73-4.10s with good axles, etc.
