Struts Install?
So the 89 Camaro has 2 shocks in the rear and 2 struts in the front. I read in another post that Shocks are easy to install.
What about struts. Are they easy to install? How do you install them.

the front struts are fairly easy to change.
take off the wheels
support the front of the car (not under control arms)
get a small jack and raise it so it just touches the bottom of the control arm
there are two 13/16" nuts/bolts that connect the strut to the spindle... obviously remove those. the jack can be used to oppose the pressure of the spring to make removal of the bolts easier.
pop off the strut cover
using the correct allen wrench along with a regular open/box wrench, remove the nut that holds the strut in. be carefull when you finally get it off tho, cuz once the last thread lets go, the strut is gonna fall down unless you or a buddy is holding it while you loosen the nut.
installation is the opposite.
I think i got it all.

Plus you should really get an alignment after you replace the struts! The lower strut-to-knuckle bolts should be TORQUED (so you better have a torque wrench) to between 150-180 ft/lbs, depending on the year of the Firebird/Camaro. (All of us here who have rebuilt our suspension seem to have different torque specs in our books) Keep in mind what you "think" is strong enough to be close to 150 ft/lbs of torque might not be! 150 ft/lbs is a lot when you're just guessing.
