I can't find any information on individual bilstein part numbers at all.

I got those part numbers from http://www.stranoparts.com

The bilstein website sucks as well.

Spohn sells a HD Bilstein setup for the 82-92 for 550$ which seems ridiculous. Summit and Spohn sell the 4th gen HD Bilstein setup for around 400$. I've seen on 4th gen forums guys getting the complete HD Bilstein setup for around 300$ shipped.

Now the 3rd / 4th gen has a different front setup correct?

As far as I can tell my car has the stock struts/shocks still, so I figured they could use a replacement (even though I can't tell if my cars suspension is stiff because of the IROC setup or because the shocks/struts are toasted)

Is it possible to get the 3rd gen HD bilstein setup for around 300$?

The purchase actually from Shox.com & you just say that you want the group purchase rate from the other site but just specify that this is going to be for a third gen. That is the price on strano.com, now that is EACH? I thought that was for a pair.

Somehow the 4th gen guys get a complete HD bilstein setup for around 308$, what is it about the 3rd gen setup that it's SOO much more expensive for the struts?

i paid $345 from lingenfelter but that was awhile ago. $375-400 seems to be the normal going rate. however, when you do get them you will be very pleased.

as far as the rear, the 4thgen setup should be similar but i've never directly swapped shocks. the fronts will not work, you'll need the 3rdgen strut design. the market just isn't large enough for thirdgens, people don't do what many do here and because of it parts are higher priced.

 

I don't know if this applies to Camaros and Firebirds but I do know that the HDs are firmer then the stock shocks and that the sports are shorter then the stock shock/strut on BMWs. I deal with this all the time. The sports are for lowered cars. Where the HDs are for cars that are still factory height.

I checked out www.shox.com where they list HDs and Sports for $419 per a set of 4.

 

lowered as in really lowered....you'll over extend the sports. keep the sports for sportline height and the hd's for pro-kit height. follow this and you will be golden.
