Will I destroy my Hooker long tubes if I use the Eibach Sportline springs??
I don't know where to post this at so I will put 1 post in both exhaust and suspension forums. Anyway, I currently have the Hooker Super Competition long tube headers on the car, and want to know if I were to use the Eibach Sportline springs if it will really mess them up? I don't want to use the Pro Kit, it doesn't lower the car enough for my taste. The whole exhaust is big ie. Mufflex Y pipe and 4 inch after cat system. Just cusious to see if anyone is currently running this setup. Any suggestions/opinions are appreciated. Thanks, Paul Moore

With pipes that big, I'd say you'd be hammering them all the time if the car is that low.

the hookers dip down lower than the hedman...i'm getting logntubes as well, and i ahve sportline springs...i think i'm gonna make a thing outta angle iron that goes from subframe to subframe that will act as a gaurd, and it will break the fall if you will...i'm also gonna do this on ceritain parts of the car so i don't scratch my G/FX up...just an idea

Yes! I have the hookers and I scrape everything! My collector flanges have big flats ground on them from hitting the pavement so much. Mine is so bad that I am cutting the headers apart this winter to shorten up the primaries. I figure I can cut an inch out of them and still have a fair amount of clearance to the car/bellhousing. That should help out a little.

Well, not that I want to, but if I were to run the Pro Kit instead, would those same problems still exist, or is just due to the fact that the headers hang so low to begin with? Living here in FL, we don't really have that bad of a road system, and potholes are an extremely rare occurance. Basically, almost all of the roads are flat. I will just have to be very cautious about certain things like speed bumps, driveways, etc. These things will be easy to get used to as my daily driver Pontiac Sunbird is lowered(Pro Kit) and I already have to look out for those things. Thanks for all of the posts, Paul Moore
the problem is that you won't be able to navigate.... it will be a matter of just dealing with hitting on everything. at that height you can't really go at things even on angles although you had better anyhow if you don't want to rip them off.
it will work, just have to be very careful... on a toy that's fine. on a daily it's a pita.

I don't have too much problem with speed bumps.....cause when I see one I turn tail and run
The big problem I have is going through intersections where the cross road is "humped" up.....if I go to fast......kablamoo...I get major spark action. At night I can actually see sparks in my mirror...not fun at all!

A quick question for 406TPI. Are you running a stock height suspension, or are you lowered?
Hey Kandied, do you know if hooker makes a shorty or midlength header that still has 1 3/4 primaries? I have to use the 1 3/4 primaries to make the most available power out of my Edelbrock Performer RPM package. 450+ HP smallblocks need a big exhaust!

If I were you, and was that concerned about it, I would go with SLP's...I had them on my car and they fit great....I only switched when I got my AFR heads and the angle plugs would not fit.
i have a nice 4" exhaust i'll sell you that will work!

the problem is many aftermarket setups have variance and aren't tucked as much as they could be. my system is really tight however it took somework and everything was made custom for the car. i do not drive it on the street more then a 1" tire to fender gap or i would drag. luckily i had air so i could avoid things but before i did with just a prokit drop i scraped on several things.
wasn't fun. as far as the power.... you know many told me the same thing. i don't believe it. i think you'll need much more power then that to make use of such a large exhaust but who am i to say. have the stock system with only a borla cat back and then upgrading to a full custom 3" and then lastly a 4" the 3" showed the most gain. don't ask me though because i'm going back to a 2.5"
good luck with it.

Thanks for all the posts. Actually, after looking at a post by custom88camaro??? where he had a pic of his camaro with the Pro Kit, I think that I might actually go with that instead. His car didn't look too bad with that drop plus it will still keep SOME of the ground clearance.

Sorry, the original post was by 88camaro350, my bad.
It gets kind of confusing with all of these screen names that are like xxxxxxcamaroxxxxx. They all kind of blend together if you know what I mean.
