Questions for those with Convo-Pros

Basicly i've fallen in love with the rims and wanted to know a few things before i fork out the cash;

1. Im looking at 15x10s on the back, but they only provide a 5"-5" offset. Will these fit under the stock rear?

2. What profile tyres do you use to fill up the guards, front and back?

Sorry if this could have been "SEARCH"ed but ive been trying it all day to no avail.

Cheers.

My brother had the 15x10's on his 84. They looked really cool but did not fit well. He had to install air shocks in the back to keep the tires from hitting the wells. At the time we "could" have modified the fenderlips but it would have been real close. Also, I'm going off of memory. This was almost 12 years ago too. I can't remember the exact off set but it was the largest it could get at the time. Hope that helps.

Oh yeah, he had 15x7's in the front and what ever size it was it fit well. I beleive it was a 60 series tire but that's all I can tell ya.

those are the 8.5 " convos with 4.5" back spacing. The cleared everything great and teh rear of mine is lowered two inches with no rub. 295 50 15 BFG's

personally I like these much better than a 10".

With some minor mods (), you can fit some 15x14 convo's wrapped with 31x18.5 Hoosier QTP's in the rear:

Your right mate, I also ended up ordering the 8.5's instead of teh 10's as the offsets are a little more friendly.

I don't suppose anyone else has pics of their Convos they'd like to share?

Crackhead, those look great. I am also thinking of getting them and use them with drag radials. However, Centerline only lists a 5" backspace and a 3.xx" for the 8.5" wheel. Is it possible, that You have the 5" backspacing ones also ?

oops my bad you are correct, I had them on my 4th gen when I run it at the track. They fit teh 3rd gen great, any other offest would hamper looks and performance IMO.

Haha... Thanks guys.

They are 15x7 w/225 60 up front and 15x8.5 w/275 60 rear. I am SO glad I didn't go for the 15x10 as im nearly certain they wouldn't have fit as well or look as good.

I'm not missing a lug nut, I just had to use one of those poxy little brass ones as i destroyed one of my lock nuts getting the old rim off.

Very happy with the way the car turned out, but I still feel like I want the front lowered a couple of inches since I took heaps of gear out of the front.

.

I think it looks awesome the way it is. It gives me an idea as to how my car will look. I just ordered the Weld Pro Stars, little skinnier in the front with 15x5 and about the same size in the rear with 15x8, if it looks as good as your car i'll be happy
